Service Reference from Decatur Morgan Regional Hospital
Since 2006, Med-Scribe has provided our system affiliate, Parkway Medical Center, with impeccable service, excellent documentation quality, and solid technology with zero interruption to patient care. During this time, we also used the transcription services of several local companies and a large national provider of transcription and voice recognition technology. When we started experiencing poor customer service and issues with repeated downtime from these other vendors, sometimes for days on end, it became apparent that Med-Scribe had proven itself over and over to be a company that we could count on and expand our relationship with. In 2013, after careful analysis and reviewing historical data, we determined Med-Scribe could save our facility over $200K annually by providing the Decatur Morgan, Parkway, and Decatur Morgan West campuses with a back-end speech recognition model blended with Med-Scribe’s U.S. labor. Implementation was extremely smooth with no physician complaints and our plans are to continue expanding our relationship with Med-Scribe into other departments such as Radiology and Pathology as well onto other campuses within our system ACO this year.

After years of performing our transcription in-house, Huntsville Health System decided to evaluate transcription companies in an outsourced capacity. Key ingredients to our search was a company that could deliver savings using the latest advancements in technology including voice recognition, seamless integration into our existing EHR workflow, and the ability to onboard our in-house transcription staff which included several employees with a tenure of 25+ plus years. Our search was made easier because MedScribe had already delivered on their promise to save one of our affiliate hospitals several thousands of dollars while simultaneously improving their overall turnaround times, quality, and customer service.
From the day we first met the executive staff of MedScribe, their extensive understanding of the documentation needs of a large healthcare network was evident. They worked tirelessly with our staff and guided us through a very detailed and multi-faceted implementation plan. The week of go-live, the executive team again was on-site to ensure the plan was well executed and go-live was as seamless as possible with no interruptions to patient care. Now that we are approaching 180-days past implementation, I can still say that MedScribe’s continued commitment to our satisfaction and operational excellence have exceeded our expectations. Our hospital recently made a change in transcription vendors and outsourced 100% of our work. Med Scribe was selected as the vendor and worked with us for a successful and seamless transition into our EPIC environment.
The Med-Scribe staff is truly interested in meeting the needs of our health care system and our physicians. They are very accommodating, easy to work with, and always available to address our needs or concerns.
I was very pleased with the implementation and planning for the go-live, and the support available on the actual go-live date. We are now several months past go-live, and the same level of service and support is in place. The quality of the transcription is superb and turnaround time of reports is exceptional.
